THE MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK

Every morning, the opening blast to Star Wars announces the start of his day. Sometimes the Imperial March tells him it's really time to get up, but usually John Williams gets it right the first time.

Getting ready, that's Titanic in its entirety. His mornings are about anticipation, excitement, perhaps romance...? The day could bring anything! But if he's not sitting down at his desk by the time the ship sinks, his supervisors are going to issue him another warning.

Does he spend eight hours a day writing code for computer programs even he does not understand? No, certainly he does not, though that is a common misconceptionHe is Frodo accepting his quest, he is Aragorn struggling with the love of two beautiful women and a destiny he is not sure he wants, he is Gandalf the Grey plummeting with the Balrog of Morgoth through the darkest depths, a defiant cry on his lips and a blazing sword in his hand.

After lunch, he is William Wallace's youth, secret marriage, betrayal, revenge, war, and freedom! After work, he is the rightful captain of the Black Pearl. Back at home, he is on a helicopter landing on the lush Costa Rican island of Isla Nublar, about to learn that everything old is new again.

At night, he is the Spaniard. His day is at an end, but he is victorious. What he does in this life echoes in eternity. He bushes his teeth. He dreams.

In the morning, the opening blast to Star Wars announces the start of his day.
